The City of Arlington is committed to enhancing pedestrian safety, accessibility, and connectivity throughout the City. The ADA Transition Plan (ADA TP) and Sidewalk Master Plan (SWMP) are designed to strategically outline the design and implementation of sidewalks to meet the diverse needs of all Arlington sidewalk users. This includes developing a plan to bring all city-maintained sidewalks into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. In addition to inventorying all deficiencies of existing accessibility standards, numerous focus areas will be examined in further detail to enhance walkability and safety for all users.
We need your input to identify these focus areas. Please use this site to provide feedback on your accessibility concerns through our survey, the interactive map, or attending one of our upcoming events. This project page will serve as your hub for all updates and involvement opportunities related to the project!
Thank you for helping us advance the community's vision and values, foster a more livable and connected city, and strengthen its status as “The American Dream City."
