4th of July in Arlington

My favorite memory of Arlington is the 4th of July fireworks display at the Arlington’s Southeast Park. We would arrive early with our children along with a picnic dinner and drinks. The fireworks were always wonderful and the kids would whoo and awe as the fireworks burst overhead.

We have lived in Arlington since 1984.

How Community Advocacy Secured MLK Day in Arlington Schools

I have many memorable experiences in Arlington, My most memorable experience in Arlington was as Grace United Methodist Church Associate Pastor, while leading and collaborating with other religious coalition leaders, parents, students and community members. We came together to request that the MLK National Holiday be celebrated in Arlington Schools. This happened after the 1987 school calendar did not include the recognition of MLK's birthday as a national holiday. This holiday had been signed into law by President Reagan in 1983. From Fall Fest to Board Service, River Legacy Shaped My Family

For twenty five years, Arlington has been home, and my favorite memories all seem to circle back to River Legacy Park. When my boys were little, we went every single year to what’s now called Fall Fest, and I still have that picture of the two of them sitting in the cab of the fire truck.
