From Fall Fest to Board Service, River Legacy Shaped My Family
For twenty five years, Arlington has been home, and my favorite memories all seem to circle back to River Legacy Park. When my boys were little, we went every single year to what’s now called Fall Fest, and I still have that picture of the two of them sitting in the cab of the fire truck. It’s one of those images that just captures a whole era of watching them grow up.
That one tradition ended up shaping so much more. My kids later attended the nature school there, and I eventually joined the River Legacy board myself, serving as board president for a good stretch of nearly twenty years involved. What started as a family outing became one of the things I care most about in this city.
Arlington has given us plenty of other good memories too, including a night at the Levitt Pavilion downtown catching K.C. and the Sunshine Band. But nothing compares to River Legacy and the years of memories built there with my boys.
