Interlochen Magic

One of my favorite Arlington memories is driving through Interlochen as a child with my family during Christmastime, looking at the beautiful lights and singing Christmas carols in the car. Those evenings felt magical and captured so much of what Arlington has meant to me: community, family, and home.

Life came full circle when my husband and I moved back to Arlington after college and law school with our two young daughters. We bought our first home in Interlochen, and getting to share that same magic and sense of community with our own children has been an incredibly special reminder of how Arlington will always feel like home.

UTA Student

While a college student at UTA I worked on the short horn as a reporter. My beat was City hall. I had the opportunity to interview council members like Robert Rivera , Lana Wolff and Mayor Cluck. I think back to my first time at City Hall in the exact office I hold now interviewing then City Council Member Rivera. I had no idea I would run at the time and sit in the same spot and make a friend that would later stand with me as I ran for office.

National Medal of Honor Museum

In October 2019, the city of Arlington was selected as the home site for the National Medal of Honor Museum. Arlington entered the competition for the home site search as an underdog and emerged as the winner. Mayor, council and staff collaborated with our federal, state, county, and business partners to make this moment possible. As a council member during the press conference announcement, I was extremely humble and proud to be apart of something special in Arlington.
