My Family Story

When my parents moved to Arlington there was a well on Center Street and Main. When they covered the well you could go next to the old Police Department to get well water. All four of us kids went to school in Arlington and Kooken Elementary is still standing on Center Street. We would ride our bikes to Park Row and that was country. Meadowbrook Park's swimming pool was where my mother, myself and my daughter took swimming lessons. It was a sad day when they decided to cover the swimming pool up. Memorable spots: Pals Drive-In, Arlington theater, Buddy's grocery store, the old Italian Inn restaurant, and going swimming at lake Arlington. That is just four reasons why Arlington will always be home.
