Texas Rangers World Series Celebration Moments

When the Texas Rangers won the World Series in 2023, the entire city of Arlington and state of Texas was in one really large celebration mode, with celebration events all over Arlington, specifically Texas Live.

I was determined to be some part of the celebration and excitement in the city, no matter how small the part. A friend of mine and I were determined to take part in the festivities at Texas Live, anxious to partake in the mass celebration that was planned and we were NOT disappointed. Wall to wall people, celebratory music and entertainment, and food!!food!!food!!

We had worked our way to the station that had the celebratory cookies with the Rangers logo and details and were happy to help ourselves. While munching on my cookie, a young man suddenly said to me "hey! where did you find those cookies?" He was very friendly, a wide grin on his face, as he was sporting beautiful blue eyes. "I got them from over there", as I was pointing in a direction I wasn't all that sure about. He was patiently following my directions when I said, wait a minute. Let me ask my friend. I asked her and she pointed in the totally opposite direction from where I was trying to send him. I told him "I'm so glad I asked for directions and I'm sorry I was sending you the wrong way." We were laughing so hard about my almost sending him the wrong way so he said "that's alright. I would have eventually found them! Enjoy the festivities!!" "You too!! Isn't this a wonderful celebration!! Go Rangers!"

A few days later, I decided to try to attend the parade that the city was giving the Rangers. Needless to say, the streets around Globe Life Field were a veritable parking lot. But incredibly, people were in wonderful spirits, event with the traffic.

I had finally reached the street I needed to turn but was in the wrong lane and was having the hardest time changing lanes. So I thought to myself I'll just let the passenger side window down and ask this person to let me in to make my turn. Just as I turned and was about to speak, I shouted "Hey!!! I know you!!!" And he shouted back "It's the Cookie Lady! I know you!" We were laughing as we exchange amenities and he said "Did you need this lane?" "I just need to make this right turn here but I can't get over." He said so comfortingly "You come right on in here! It was good to see you again!! Enjoy the festivities!!!" I shouted back at him "Thank you so much and you enjoy the festivities too!"

Who would imagine that in a city the size of Arlington, with a massive celebration including thousands of people that a stranger with the most beautiful blue eyes would have a double encounter with an African-American woman with gray hair - all because we were drawn to the magical infectious celebration of a baseball team, winning a coveted series. When the Rangers won that crown, we all won the crown. It will always be one of the most treasured events I would ever experience! Go Rangers!!!
