Biggest Small Town There Is

We've lived in Arlington since 1999 after moving from my wife's hometown of 15,000. There everyone knew everyone. While Arlington is huge in comparison, it's the same feel. You can pretty much go anywhere in Arlington and see someone you know. We work here (General Motors, Arlington ISD) and our son was born here and still lives here. We tell it to everyone who visits. Arlington is the biggest small town there is, which is the reason we'll never leave.

I got my American Dream in Arlington

My husband and I were both laid off during Covid. During this period of collective existential crisis, we decided it was a good time to make a big change and move to a new state. We stayed up late researching the best places for young professionals, best places to raise a family, etc. One of my stipulations was that we didn't move anywhere it snowed a lot (having been born and raised in southern California), which eliminated a lot of places off the map. We All Have Heroes

I have so many wonderful memories, stories and experiences living in Arlington since the mid 90s. But this one touched our hearts and reminded us of what a great city we live in.The Arlington Heroes Parade, which honored veterans/military, first responders was so well attended and long overdue. My husband, CW5 David Baker, was asked if he would participate in the parade, but had no idea he would be riding on an armored car.
